MMFX Steel Appoints Sweitzer as New Vice President

MMFX Steel Corp. of America (Irvine, California) has appointed Sherry Sweitzer as the company’s new vice president of sales and marketing.

In that role, Sweitzer is responsible for growing sales through the effective management of the company’s North American sales team, as well as educating customers on the benefits of MMFX products through strategic marketing and communication efforts.

“Sherry’s experience in the engineering and construction fields and her knowledge of effective sales management systems and marketing will certainly enhance our efforts to meet the needs of customers,” says Tom Russo, CEO of MMFX.

“She serves as an industry source, bringing practical engineering knowledge and understanding to the organization,” Russo adds. “Her expertise will serve customers well in understanding the long-term advantages of specifying MMFX rebar in the design of bridges, roadways, high-rise buildings, marine structures, and national defense projects.”

Throughout her career, Sweitzer has contributed to business growth through positions in sales management, business development marketing, and operations related to engineering and construction.

Before joining MMFX, Sweitzer served as vice president of global sales for Jacobs Engineering Group (Pasadena, California). In that role, Sweitzer directly managed sales teams in targeted business areas while also training the global sales force. Before that, Sweitzer worked as vice president of the North American infrastructure sales business at Jacobs, where she was responsible for managing the unit sales team and, in conjunction with operations, determining the proper strategic approaches and desired business blends for growth across services and sectors.

After starting her career with Jacobs more than 25 years ago, Sweitzer progressed from managing federal contracts to pricing and negotiations, and she then moved to sales as inside sales manager.

Sweitzer also brings extensive marketing and communications experience, which she gained after managing the global marketing team and supervising corporate communications at Jacobs for nine years.

“Sherry is assuming the lead sales and marketing position for the company—a role fitting her background and perspective in engineering and construction, particularly infrastructure and national defense projects,” says Michael Pompay, president of MMFX. “She has proven her ability to identify and execute sales and marketing strategies in a team environment, which is essential for her role and in driving sales for new and existing MMFX products.”

Sweitzer has a Bachelor of Science degree from California State Polytechnic University (Pomona, California).
