Pipeline Research Council Announces New Board, Assembly Members

At its recent meeting, the executive assembly of the Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) (Falls Church, Virginia) elected two new members to sit on the group’s executive board (EB) to fill the positions of outgoing members.

Mark Yeomans, vice president of pipeline integrity at TransCanada (Calgary, Alberta, Canada), and Mark Pelkey, superintendent at National Fuel Gas Supply Corp. (Williamsville, New York), will each serve on the board for three-year terms, concluding in September 2019.

Yeomans and Pelkey will replace Thomas Scott Collier, vice president of performance assurance at Buckeye (Houston, Texas), and Per Atle Stroemme, special advisor for asset management at Gassco (Kopervik, Norway).

Both outgoing board members will remain on PRCI’s executive assembly (EA), the group says.

The following nine members now comprise PRCI's board:

  • Phillip H. DePriest, Marathon Pipe Line LLC (Pasadena, Texas), PRCI’s executive board and executive assembly chair
  • Jeff Whitworth, Shell Pipeline Co. (Houston, Texas), PRCI’s executive board and executive assembly vice chair
  • Christophe Renier, ENGIE (La Défense, France), PRCI’s executive board and executive assembly past chair
  • Gary Buchler, Kinder Morgan (Houston, Texas)
  • John Haldiman, Plains All American Pipeline (Houston, Texas)
  • Walter Kresic, Enbridge Pipelines Inc. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)
  • Mark Pelkey, National Fuel Gas Supply Corp.
  • Phu Phan, Enterprise Products (Houston, Texas)
  • Mark Yeomans, TransCanada PipeLines Ltd.

PRCI also announced new members for its assembly:

  • David Mucz, Alliance Pipeline Ltd. (Calgary, Alberta, Canada)
  • Mark Gebbia, Williams Companies, Inc. (Tulsa, Oklahoma)
  • Vinicius Matos, Petrobras (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
  • David Buczkowski, Southern California Gas Co. (Los Angeles, California)
  • Robert Young, Applus RTD (Rotterdam, The Netherlands)

“The new governance and research models, in conjunction with the new EA and EB, will enable PRCI to continue to deliver innovative and applied research that enables the energy pipeline industry to enhance and ensure pipeline safety and integrity,” says Cliff Johnson, president of PRCI. “In the coming year, PRCI will further focus on technology transfer of the key results,” he adds.

In October 2015, PRCI says it approved enhancements to its governance and research models to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Over the past year, the organization has since implemented changes in its structure, operations, and processes, thereby resulting in improvements and efficiencies to enable members to more readily engage with PRCI and better realize the benefits.

PRCI’s changes included restructuring its governing bodies to form an assembly consisting of a representative from each PRCI pipeline member company, pipeline industry organization member, and full associate member, as well as a streamlined board to provide strategic and operational guidance for the organization as a whole.
