Castolin Eutectic Acquires Coatings Group Furnace Mineral Products

The Castolin Eutectic Group (Lausanne, Switzerland), a division of Messer Eutectic Castolin GmbH Holding (Bad Soden, Germany), recently announced the acquisition of privately owned Furnace Mineral Products, Inc. (FMP) (Toronto, Ontario, Canada).

FMP specializes in the research, development, manufacture, and field application of inorganic-hybrid coatings.

These coatings have been used frequently by the power generation industry, but they are also applicable across a spectrum of industries where innovative wear or corrosion protection solutions are required, according to Castolin officials.

The company notes that FMP enjoys a strong presence in the United States, but adds that FMP also recently entered into markets in the Middle East and Asia.

“Adding FMP to the Castolin Eutectic Group compliments other recent acquisitions like Whertec, Inc. [Jacksonville, Florida] and Monitor Coatings [North Shields, United Kingdom], to strengthen the group’s position as a leading global player in providing the broadest range of innovative protective coating solutions to the industry,” Castolin Eutectic says in a news release.

“Both Whertec’s and FMP’s application capabilities fit well to Castolin Eutectic’s 111 years of dedication to conserve the earth’s resources, enhance plant performance, and reduce maintenance costs through technology and a [high] quality and service level,” the company adds.
