NACE International has announced June 7-8, 2017, as the dates of its annual legislative fly-in event, aimed at informing representatives in the U.S. Congress (Washington, DC) of the group’s mission to protect people, assets, and the environment from the adverse effects of corrosion.
Registration for the event is free, and all NACE International members are invited and encouraged to attend, according to event organizers.
“Now more than ever before, every member of Congress needs to understand how important corrosion control is to public safety and to the U.S. economy,” the group says in a statement.
Events include an annual reception with the U.S. Corrosion Prevention Caucus, with both policymakers and regulators in attendance. A separate group dinner will provide an overview and briefing on the status of policies and legislation directly affecting businesses and professionals in the corrosion industry.
Those in attendance will also receive a personalized schedule of meetings with appropriate U.S. congressional representatives and officials.
Attendees are asked to register by May 31, 2017.
