New Liquid Fluoroelastomer Formulations Released for Coatings, Sealants

Pelseal Technologies, LLC (Bensalem, Pennsylvania), a manufacturer of high-performance liquid fluoroelastomer coatings, adhesives, sealants, and caulks, recently introduced more than 30 new industrial coating and sealant product formulations.

The products are designed to provide solutions to problems caused by chemical attack, mechanical abrasion, and the erosion and corrosion of metal and other substrates.

The new formulations were created to refine the physical properties of its products for lower volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and higher solids content, and to improve process viscosity or adhesion properties.

The products are manufactured using either Viton- or Dyneon-branded fluoroelastomers. Each formulation features unique properties, including extreme chemical resistance, flexibility, high abrasion resistance, and broad temperature range capability, according to the company.

The products also bond to a broad range of substrates, including most metals, concrete, glass, ceramics, other elastomers, and some plastics.

“Engineers are familiar with fluoroelastomer O-rings and gaskets, but this liquid presentation is unique and can solve corrosion problems in ways most industrial professionals haven’t even imagined,” says Bill Ross, president of the company. “Our coatings, adhesives, sealants, and caulks remain flexible in service and resist a broad range of chemistry. Liquid formulations conform to any space or gap, improving the seal of molded O-rings and gaskets.”
