Stronghold Coating Systems (Franklin, Ohio), a provider of custom polymeric products and process development for thermal spray coating, announced the opening of a larger facility for the in-house production of its MM1018 line.

This represents the first time the load-bearing repair product has been manufactured in the United States, according to the company, described as the exclusive North American supplier of DIAMANT products.

The new 5,000 ft2 (464.5 m2) facility is double the size of the prior site, and it will house production units and areas for engineering, research and development, shipping and receiving departments, and corporate offices.

Manufacturing will include the acquisition of specialized mixing and blending machinery, as well as the addition of more personnel. The new site will also incorporate 6-axis robotic application systems, as well as the company’s technical database gleaned from more than 50 years of engineering experience.

Meanwhile, the previous facility will continue to produce products including Dichtol micro-porosity sealers with capillary action, PlasticMetal repair products, RepaCoat repair products, and a full-featured test lab.

“With the added room, our production team can manufacture and ship product without impeding on the space that our technical team requires as they work to solve complex wear or corrosion problems,” says company president Larry Grimenstein.
