U.S. Industrial Services Firm Acquires Marine Specialty Coatings Group

U.S. industrial and environmental services provider ASRC Industrial Services (AIS) (Concord, California) recently announced the acquisition of marine specialty coatings company US Coatings, Inc. (USC) (Mobile, Alabama). Following the transaction, USC will become a component of the construction, maintenance, and repair (CMR) operating group at AIS.

Founded in 2005, USC has established a reputation as a customer-focused, value-added service provider to the marine industry, the industrial services provider explains. The company specializes in providing interior tank coating, cleaning, and surface preparation services for assorted marine vessel tanks including cargo, ballast, and freshwater. Additionally, the company is an applicator of advanced coatings and protective systems for marine hulls, decks, and superstructures.

“I am pleased to welcome the talented workforce of USC to the AIS family of companies,” says Greg Johnson, president and CEO of AIS. “The acquisition is a critical step in achieving the long-term vision and immediately augments the current capabilities and geographic footprint of the CMR operating group.”

USC operates across several U.S. regions, including the Gulf Coast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic. The company serves multiple markets within the marine industry, including transportation, logistics, tourism, leisure, commercial fishing, and the U.S. federal government.

“Today is an important and exciting milestone for the employees and customers of USC,” says Cecil Williams, the company’s president. “I believe becoming a part of the AIS platform will provide increased development opportunities for our employees while also allowing us to increase our service offerings to current and future customers.”
