Asset Corrosion Management Guidelines for non-Hydrocarbon Industries

NACE International recently published the first-ever corrosion management reference book targeting non-hydrocarbon industries, including strategies to protect the integrity of premium assets.

Titled An Introduction to Corrosion Management in the Industry and edited by Ali Morshed, the book is comprehensive, practical, and offers an easy-to-understand set of new definitions, guidelines, and suggestions.

Morshed is a NACE member and corrosion engineering specialist at Saudi Aramco (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia), and he says the book is a product of years of evolution in the practice of fighting corrosion across numerous sectors.

The book’s main objective is to facilitate greater appreciation of the corrosion management concept and the implementation of its processes for and within any non-hydrocarbon industrial sector where corrosion is a major integrity threat.

The target audience includes corrosion engineers, maintenance engineers, reliability engineers, inspection engineers, cathodic protection (CP) and coating engineers, asset owners, operators and managers, and those managing chemical treatments and corrosion monitoring and sampling systems.
