NACE International will host its new High Temperature Corrosion Mitigation in Energy Sectors Conference on May 9-10, 2018, at the Holiday Inn Krakow City Center in Krakow, Poland.

At the event, panelists will discuss how to combat the degradation of facilities caused by corrosion while implementing the European Union’s (EU) energy market legislation and new regulations. This event is projected to bring together industry leaders from energy companies throughout the EU.

“The EU’s push for emissions reduction poses unique challenges to energy markets,” event organizers say. “Energy suppliers and operators must use more efficient materials and invest in new technologies, while still utilizing aging facilities and transmission and distribution systems.”

The event is expected to bring leaders from across Europe involved in various energy sectors.

Presentation highlights from the event’s technical program will include topics such as the stability of the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Inconel 740H alloy; the effect of temperature, surface finish, and pressure on steam oxidation; protective coatings for superheater tubes for waste-to-energy plants; and the corrosion of zirconium and its alloys in conditions imitating reactor environments.

Advance registration rates, which offer registrants a $100 discount, are available through April 2. To register for the event, visit the conference web site.
