Industrial protective coatings and repair composites manufacturer Belzona (Harrogate, United Kingdom) recently opened a new training and distribution center at their head office in Harrogate.

The company, which celebrated its 66th anniversary earlier this year, says the new £6-million facility will more than double its current distribution area floor space, with 12 m (39.4 ft) of usable height, the addition of ~4,000 pallet spaces, and 166,100 ft3 (4,703 m3) of total floor area.

The training area features a new, fully equipped presentation suite as well as a classroom for practical demonstrations, reflecting a continued focus on training and raising global application standards. In 2017, over 40 courses were delivered by the company to over 175 delegates from distributors around the world.

“We believe that training is vital to success,” says David Blackwell, the group’s engineering director. “Training empowers people to meet the demands made of them in the work environment and prepares them for the unexpected situations that life will throw at them. [Our] practical training courses are designed to enhance the theoretical aspects of solutions by placing them in a practical context.”

The training and distribution center officially became open on April 5, 2018, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by company president Joel Svendsen and the Harrogate mayor.

In all, the company exports from its Harrogate manufacturing office to over 160 countries worldwide.
