African Corrosion Congress Event Planned for July 2018

NACE International and the Corrosion Institute of Southern Africa (Midrand, South Africa) are jointly hosting the African Corrosion Congress (AfriCORR18) event from July 16-20, 2018, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

According to event organizers, AfriCORR18 is designed to present advancements in corrosion mechanisms, detection methods, measurement techniques, case studies, prevention, and mitigation.

“The African Corrosion Congress provides a forum for African and international researchers and industrial practitioners in the field of corrosion to explore African corrosion challenges and develop African solutions,” event organizers write. “AfriCORR18 provides a welcome arena for interested parties to gather together to share, discuss, and learn from each other as we endeavor to combat corrosion throughout the continent.”

AfriCORR18 comprises the three-day Congress session preceded by an elective two-day corrosion school workshop.

The Congress event includes several renowned plenary speakers and a high caliber of papers submitted by academia and industry, according to the organizers, along with an exhibit hall.

Meanwhile, the workshop on corrosion research techniques is designed to explore potentiometry and a number of spectroscopy techniques currently available, along with how to best interpret the data.
