U.S. Pipeline Regulator Plans Hazardous Materials Safety Research Forum

The U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) (Washington, DC, USA) is hosting its Hazmat Safety Research and Development Forum on May 16-17, 2018.

The forum, to be held at the boardroom and conference center of the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) (Washington, DC, USA), will be attended by industry representatives, modal authorities, and federal and state officials.

At the forum, PHMSA plans to present the results of recently completed projects, brief attendees on new project plans, and solicit stakeholder input on current and future research and development (R&D) projects. Registration for select meetings is currently available

PHMSA also plans to make provisions for conference call-in and “live meeting” capabilities. When available, details will be available at PHMSA’s event web site.

PHMSA is a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) agency created in 2004, responsible for developing and enforcing regulations for the safe, reliable, and environmentally sound operation of U.S. pipeline networks.
