Deadline Approaches for 2018 NACE International Awards Nominations

The Distinguished Organization Award was one of several to be presented in NACE International's 2017 Awards Program.

NACE International’s annual Awards Program acknowledges leaders who have advanced the association through their dedication to the corrosion industry. Recognized around the world, these coveted awards celebrate the achievements of both individuals and organizations within the industry.

Do you know a leader who deserves to be recognized? Review nominator eligibility at the NACE web page for the awards to submit a nomination. Questions can be sent to awards@nace.org.

The R.A. Brannon Award is the signature award of the association. It recognizes a current member of NACE whose outstanding service has contributed to the development and improvement of the association, resulting in promotion of NACE’s objectives. Contributions to NACE are evaluated on the basis of results achieved, rather than effort expended.

Distinguished Service Award

This award is given for distinguished service to NACE by an elected or appointed member—or a group (under exceptional circumstances)—for duties, responsibilities, or assignments, performed at the section, region, area, or association level.

Fellow Honor

The honor of NACE Fellow is given in recognition of distinguished contributions in the field of corrosion and its prevention; and to develop a broadly based forum for technical and professional leaders to serve as advisers to the Association.

Technical Achievement Award

The Technical Achievement Award is given in recognition for technical achievement in corrosion engineering having significant impact on the practice of corrosion control, or on the enhancement of the profession of corrosion engineering. Recognized achievements can be in the areas of research, engineering, or education.

A.B. Campbell Award

This award is presented for the most outstanding manuscript published in Materials Performance (MP) or CORROSION journal during the year by an author(s) who was no older than 35 years of age when the manuscript was submitted for publication consideration. If there are co-authors, then the amount of individual contribution must be indicated by the other authors.

CORROSION Best Paper Award

This award is given for the most outstanding manuscript published in CORROSION journal in the calendar year preceding the award nomination deadline. CORROSION Editorial Board members will be requested to provide nominations based on their knowledge of the manuscripts published during the eligible calendar year for which they were the lead editors.

T.J. Hull Award

The T.J. Hull Award is given in recognition of an outstanding contribution to NACE in the field of publications. The contribution must, in some manner, have contributed significantly to furthering the aims and objectives of NACE in the field of publication and dissemination of corrosion information in an effective and timely manner.

R. Baboian Award

This award is given in recognition of achievement in the field application of corrosion technology. The achievement must have had notable impact on the practice of corrosion control or the enhancement of the profession of corrosion. This award is specifically targeted to field practitioners of corrosion control technology such as inspectors, technologists, and engineers. This award shall not recognize work in corrosion research and development.

Frank Newman Speller Award

This award is given for significant contributions to corrosion engineering, such as the development or improvement of a method, process, apparatus, or equipment, or material that facilitates the control of corrosion or makes it less costly. An individual may qualify who has made a national or international contribution to corrosion engineering through some form of education or works.

H.H. Uhlig Award

The H.H. Uhlig Award is given in recognition of outstanding effectiveness in post-secondary corrosion education at the undergraduate or graduate level as exhibited by an educator who excites their students through outstanding and innovative teaching in corrosion. To qualify, nominations must be received within 10 years of the nominee entering the field of education. An educator may qualify who has effectively conveyed and instilled in students the principles and applications of corrosion science and technology, and has stimulated students to enter professional pursuits in defining and mitigating corrosion problems.

Willis Rodney Whitney Award

The Willis Rodney Whitney Award is given in recognition of significant contributions to corrosion science, such as the development or improvement of a theory that provides a fundamental understanding of corrosion phenomena and/or the prevention of corrosion. An individual who has made a major contribution to corrosion science through a form of education or work that leads to a better understanding of the science of corrosion may qualify.

Distinguished Organization Award

The NACE Distinguished Organization Award recognizes companies that have, over a sustained period of time, made outstanding contributions in the field of corrosion science or engineering, or for a major technological contribution to either field.
