Portable Videoscope for Internal Equipment Inspections

Photo courtesy of Olympus. Olympus Corp. (Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan) announced the creation of the IPLEX G Lite industrial videoscope, which serves as a successor to the now-discontinued IPLEX UltraLite.

Not only is this updated videoscope twice as bright as its predecessor, it is also outfitted with a small camera at its tip that can be adjusted as needed. The camera allows for enhanced image processing, as well as the ability to record and review video recordings that can be bookmarked for future reference.

This small, lightweight equipment has several practical applications for those in the safety management and quality assurance industries, says Jack Zhang, RVI product general manager at Olympus Asia Pacific. According to Zhang, the product is capable of capturing images in low light conditions and detecting hard-to-see scratches.

The videoscope is ideally suited for collecting visual information inside aircraft engines, piping, and other unreachable areas without disassembly. In addition, its oil clearing tip adaptor removes oil from the scope’s lens so that safety investigators can effectively conduct inspections of challenging environments.
