Migrating Corrosion Inhibitor Added to Repair Mortars

Photo courtesy of ChemMasters, Inc.ChemMasters, Inc. (Madison, Ohio, USA) has introduced a migratory corrosion inhibitor to two of the company’s repair mortars: ChemSpeed 75 and ChemSpeed 75 ES.

Adding a corrosion inhibitor to these repair mortars protects structural steel and rebar from corrosion, as well as helps ensure maximum repair durability. The ability of the additive to stop or reduce corrosion lends further effectiveness to the single component cementitious mortars in making repairs to slabs, bridges, parking decks, columns, beams, and roadways.

Additionally, these repair mortars offer a variety of application options that include trowels, vertical and overhead repairs, and pumps.

ChemSpeed 75 reaches initial set in 13 to 19 min, while ChemSpeed 75 ES has an extended initial set of 40 to 50 min for increased flow and easier use in hot weather. Both repair mortars are freeze- and thaw-resistant, high early strength mortars that may be placed at temperatures down to 20° F (–6.7° C).
