Pipeline Research Group Announces New Vice President of Operations

The Pipeline Research Council International (PRCI) (Falls Church, Virginia, USA) announced the appointment of Gary Hines as the group’s new vice president of operations. The appointment begins August 17, 2018.

In the role, Hines will be responsible for further enhancing research execution, delivery, and knowledge transfer.

Hines joins PRCI with over 23 years of experience in both the energy association and natural gas pipeline industries. He spent the last seven years at Southern Gas Association (SGA) (Dallas, Texas, USA) as the vice president of learning and professional development.

Prior to his time with SGA, Hines spent nine years with Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline (Owensboro, Kentucky, USA) and eight years with Williams Co. (Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA).

Hines received a B.S. degree in civil engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology (Rolla, Missouri, USA) and an M.B.A. from Colorado State University (Fort Collins, Colorado, USA).

The appointment of the new vice president of operations also created an opportunity to reorganize certain responsibilities within PRCI, the group explains. As part of that reorganization, PRCI announced the promotion of Gary Choquette to director of research execution.

In that capacity, Choquette will be responsible for optimizing the group’s contractor resources in an effort to facilitate the timely execution of PRCI research. Choquette will also continue in his role as program manager for the measurement and compressor and pump station technical committees.

“Gary Choquette taking on greater responsibility regarding research execution will allow Gary Hines to focus on further developing the technology and knowledge transfer of the research portfolio, with a concentration on usability and application of research results,” says Cliff Johnson, president of the council. “I believe PRCI members will see improved project turnaround and research application with the appointment of these new roles.”
