Remote Sensing Firm for Leak Detection Opens California Subsidiary

Satellite-based leak detection company Utilis Corp. (Rosh HaAyin, Israel) officially opened their Utilis Inc. subsidiary in San Diego, California, USA.

Elected officials and representatives from local utilities attended the event on August 23, 2018, to learn about new innovation in the leak detection sector and the impact the company is making in the global water conservation effort.

Guests moved between five stations—each covering a short presentation about the company’s history and mission—along with an overview of their patented technology, previous U.S. case studies, and an upcoming pilot project for the City of San Diego, where the company will provide 100 points of interest signifying possible leaks.

“Utilis is grateful for such a warm welcome by the San Diego community, and we look forward to working with local officials and utility companies to find more leaks and save you water,” says CEO Elly Perets.

The company describes itself as the world’s only leak detection provider using satellite remote sensing, which contributes to the conservation of water. Utilis says it chose San Diego for their second outpost due to the availability of quality talent, the strong support for the “blue technology” sector, and the state’s interest in water conservation.
