U.S. paints, coatings, and paint supplies manufacturer and distributor Dunn-Edwards Corp. (Los Angeles, California, USA) has introduced its ENDURA Series as a line of high performance, water-based coatings with strong corrosion and chemical resistance, along with excellent adhesion and hardness.

The line features three coatings, including ENDURA-COAT, a new interior/exterior, water-based acrylic industrial maintenance coating with low volatile organic compounds (VOCs); ENDURACAT, a water-based, pre-catalyzed epoxy; and ENDURAPRIME, a water-based, rust preventative primer.

All three products were released earlier in 2018 by the manufacturer, which offers products for both architectural and industrial applications.

“ENDURA-COAT is a high performance, direct-to-metal coating ideal for use on properly prepared and primed metal, wood, masonry, plaster or drywall,” says Neha Koneru, product manager. “[The product] completes the ENDURA Series, and each of the products in the line will provide our customers with the quality and long-lasting results they have come to expect.”

The coating is available in eggshell, semi-gloss, and gloss; L, M, and U bases; and in 1-gal (3.8 L) containers. More information, including product data sheets, is available at the company’s web site.

As with all of the company’s paints, the series does not contain ethylene glycol (EG). The manufacturer removed EG from its formulas in 1984, adding that it remains the only major manufacturer to have done so. EG, which is listed as a hazardous air pollutant and toxic air contaminant, can be harmful to humans.
