Corrosion control technologies group Cortec Corp. (Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA) is building a second production facility in Beli Manastir, Croatia, through its EcoCortec subsidiary for the production of VpCI vapor-phase corrosion inhibitor films and bags.

Members of the media and local government, including the city’s mayor, were present at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony. Citing rising requirements for equipment and additional space, the company says its expansion of production and building capacities was a logical step.

“The new production hall will boost the plant’s manufacturing capabilities and will help EcoCortec's staff respond even more promptly to market challenges,” the company explains. The building was co-financed by the Croatian Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship, and Crafts, within a European Union (Brussels, Belgium) funding program.

As part of Cortec’s European group, the plant provides high-technology, corrosion protection packaging solutions and exports its products worldwide. Along with new offices, the new 2,000 m2 facility also includes a state-of-the-art extrusion line.
