Sauereisen (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA), which produces protective linings, coatings, and ceramics for industrial users, was awarded its second President’s “E Star” Award for Exports. The award represents the highest recognition a U.S. entity can receive for helping to expand U.S. exports.

Honors were presented to Sauereisen and 47 other U.S. companies by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Wilbur Ross at a recent ceremony in Washington, DC, USA. The company says it is one of only four companies to receive a second award in the history of the program.

“From our agents in the field to our manufacturing personnel here in Pittsburgh, this award is a tremendous recognition of the dedication and collaboration of our whole team at Sauereisen,” says Eric Sauereisen, company president. “Sauereisen’s commitment to exporting has always been an integral part of our long-term strategy, as we know that substantial growth in our customer base will come from overseas markets. To help meet these growth objectives, we often rely on our relationships with others, most notably the U.S. Commercial Service.”

Ross praised the company for demonstrating “a sustained commitment to export expansion” in a congratulatory letter that was sent to the company.

“The 'E' Awards Committee was very impressed with Sauereisen’s continued growth in exports since receiving the President’s 'E' Award for Exports in 1978 and the President’s 'E Star' Award for Exports in 2010,” Secretary Ross writes.

“Your company’s innovative marketing and customized market-entry programs were particularly notable,” he adds. “The committee also recognized your company’s commitment to promoting exports within your community and the nation. It is fitting that with this record of success, Sauereisen becomes just the fourth company in the 58-year history of this awards program to twice receive the President’s ‘E Star’ Award. Sauereisen’s achievements have undoubtedly contributed to national export expansion efforts that support the U.S. economy and create American jobs.”

The company produces protective linings, coatings, and ceramics for industrial uses. Its product portfolio includes a complete line of organic and inorganic corrosion-resistant materials of construction for new and rehabilitation applications.
