Longtime Protective Coatings Executive Honored by SSPC

The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA) recently named Carl Angeloff as the recipient of the 2020 SSPC Honorary Life Member Award in recognition of his extraordinary contribution and long-term activity on behalf of the organization.

Currently, Angeloff serves as President of Con-Serv Inc. (Georgetown, South Carolina, USA), a manufacturer of structural expansion bears and supports for bridges and buildings. Con-Serv also operates as a shop for complex protective coatings systems certified by the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) (Chicago, Illinois, USA).

Angeloff has more than 50 years of experience in the protective coatings industry, including a 25-year stint as a coatings technologist for Bayer Corporation (Whippany, New Jersey, USA). He has also worked as AISC’s Northeast regional manager for the steel fabrication industry and was the bridge engineer for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA).

Additionally, Angeloff has been an SSPC member for 12 years, including a two-term stint as President of its Board of Governors. Other professional organizations to which he belongs include the American Society of Highway Engineers (Johnston, Pennsylvania, USA), of which he is a lifetime member, and the annual International Bridge Conference, serving as an honorary member of its Executive Committee.

An author of 43 papers on coatings and engineering topics, Angeloff received both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh; and currently holds registration as a Professional Engineer in the states of Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, and Ohio.

Angeloff and other award recipients will be honored at SSPC’s Annual Awards Luncheon on February 3, 2020.
