Registration remains open for the CORROSION 2020 Conference & Expo, to be held March 15–19, 2020, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas, USA.

The event will include a specialized protective coatings workshop on Tuesday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 18, organized by NACE International and the NACE Coatings Council.

This interactive workshop, designed for coatings applicators, inspectors, and contractors of all experience levels, will feature engaging discussions and presentations from coatings industry leaders; an introduction to new emerging technologies and techniques; and an overview of best practices from experts. In addition, attendees will get the opportunity to network with fellow contractors, inspectors, and suppliers.

Topics in the workshop include robotics in inspection; virtual reality in training and testing; the economics of coatings and coatings inspection; coatings in wind farm and offshore wind environments; avoiding premature failures; surface preparation standards and rust grades; scanning dry film thickness (DFT) measurement, equipment, and procedures; understanding how coatings adhere to substrates; wet abrasive blast cleaning; and corrosion under insulation (CUI).

Registration fees for the protective coatings workshop are $199 for NACE members and $249 for nonmembers. Registration includes access to the workshop for both days; access to the CORROSION 2020 exhibit hall on Tuesday and Wednesday; access to the Coatings Experience; admission to the CoatingsPro Contractor Awards program; and lunch on Tuesday.

Admission to the protective coatings workshop is also included with a paid full conference registration or with a Tuesday or Wednesday one-day or multi-day conference registration. Led by NACE International, the broader CORROSION 2020 event offers five days of professional development for everyone within the corrosion control industry. Features of the show include hands-on workshops, seminars on the latest corrosion technologies, networking events, exhibition displays, and more.

Each year, CORROSION represents the world’s largest corrosion conference and exposition by welcoming more than 6,000 corrosion engineers, scientists, researchers, technicians, asset owners, inspectors, and other professionals from over 70 countries across the world. The event includes more than 400 exhibiting companies in the exhibit hall and over 1,000 hours of technical education, all focused on the study, prevention, and control of corrosion.

Complete with the protective coatings workshop, the comprehensive conference is packed with technical education and knowledge exchange, along with numerous networking opportunities to connect with industry experts and peers.
