Sto Corp. Names New Leader

Global building materials manufacturer Sto Corp. (Atlanta, Georgia, USA) announced the appointment of Jose R. Berlingeri as company president and CEO, effective January 1. Berlingeri replaced longtime president and CEO David Boivin, who retired on December 31.

Berlingeri joined Sto Corp. in 2010 as general manager (GM) for Latin America (LATAM), which was a role created to facilitate international expansion in Latin American countries. In his time as GM, Berlingeri successfully expanded Sto’s footprint in several regional markets.

As the incoming president and CEO, Berlingeri is expected to contribute his wealth of experience, both from the building materials industry and as a Sto Corp. executive.

“The choice [of Berlingeri] to succeed me was easy,” says Boivin. “Jose built a business in LATAM for Sto from nothing, and showed he was willing to get very granular in how to work with a young, diverse team and provide the leadership and maturity to allow them to run their companies independently. Jose knows Sto culture, its products and its people intimately, and has fantastic leadership instincts.”

While serving as Sto Corp’s president and CEO, Boivin led the company’s growth in North and South America, as well as contributed to the creation of Sto Panel Technology, a division devoted to insulated, prefabricated wall panel solutions. Boivin will continue his association with the company by serving as an independent consultant for Sto Panel Technology.
