HOBAS Pipe USA (HPUSA) (Houston, Texas, USA) recently announced that Edward Kocurek is stepping down as president and CEO.

Known as “Ed,” Kocurek had served the company for nearly 34 years in a variety of roles, including his time as president and CEO for the past 20 years. He will remain with the company through 2021 as an advisor to the new president and CEO.

Under Kocurek’s leadership, the company transitioned from a relatively small market segment pipe supplier to a successful international business. HOBAS Pipe is currently in water and sewer systems throughout North America, ranging from Hawaii to Newfoundland and Mexico to Alaska.

After beginning operations in the company’s original 36,000-square-foot (3,344.5 m2) facility, HOBAS Pipe has since expanded to a complex of more than 150,000 square feet (13,935.5 m2). It now has a workforce of over 170 employees.

Martin W. Dana, who joined the HOBAS Pipe management team as vice president of sales in January 2018, was promoted to the position of president and CEO, effective April 1, 2020. Prior to joining HOBAS Pipe in 2018, Dana worked 18 years at Northwest Pipe Company in Portland, Oregon, USA, described as the largest manufacturer of engineered steel water pipe systems in North America. While there, he held several executive roles.

“Martin has done an outstanding job of leading our sales efforts for the past two years, and we are confident that he is the right person to take HPUSA to even greater heights going forward,” says Ed Kocurek, outgoing president and CEO. "We continue to be excited about the future of the company as we build on our past successes, expand our product portfolio, and continue to provide both outstanding products and services to our clients.”
