The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) hosted the world’s largest corrosion and protective coatings event from March 6-10, 2022, at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, USA.

The first event of its kind, the AMPP Annual Conference + Expo 2022 combined two world renowned events: CORROSION by NACE International, and Coatings + by SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings.

AMPP’s new conference featured everything attendees valued from the legacy events including technical exchange and innovation, networking, and opportunities for collaboration. Attendees were also able to enjoy valuable programming throughout AMPP’s technical sessions, standards and administrative meetings, along with an exposition featuring hundreds of exhibitors from around the world. AMPP is also offering select content virtually on demand following the event.

News coverage of many of these events is available at the AMPP Show Daily web site, and further analysis of the 2022 conference will soon be available in an April web feature at materialsperformance.com.

2022 Program Highlights

The featured keynote speaker for the event was former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray Lahood, who will provide an in-depth analysis of the current state of infrastructure and how the 2021 U.S. Infrastructure and Jobs Act will affect the corrosion and protective coatings sector. In his remarks, Lahood offered insights into how the U.S. government prioritizes infrastructure projects and what industry professionals need to know about existing policies and sustainability initiatives.

“AMPP is committed to creating innovative programs and events that inform and inspire our members and industry stakeholders,” says Bob Chalker, AMPP CEO. “We are excited to bring together so many leaders for a long-awaited reunion at what will be our first AMPP Annual Conference + Expo. This new event will deliver the latest insights into the coatings and corrosion prevention industry we serve and provide a forum for attendees to learn, network and grow.”
