IMPACT Canada Study to Benchmark Corrosion Management Practices

The International Measures of Prevention Application and Economics of Corrosion Technologies (IMPACT) Canada Study is now underway, with widespread implications for the corrosion industry, the Canadian economy, and each company’s own knowledge resources.

What is the IMPACT Canada Study?

The Canada IMPACT study is an in-depth analysis of corrosion management practices, policies and procedures of asset owners nationwide. The study’s data is acquired from Canadian companies surveyed confidentially by experts from the American Productivity and Quality Center (APQC).

APQC’s experts analyze the data and develop a final report benchmarking best practices. The report is designed to serve as a tool for asset owners and provides recommendations for successful corrosion management. All survey participants and their companies remain anonymous and receive a copy of the final report prior to public release.

How does the IMPACT Canada study benchmark corrosion management practices?

Through a series of 90 questions, survey participants explain corrosion prevention practices from the design of an asset through decommissioning.  These questions are not related to the technical aspects of corrosion prevention but rather how an organization ensures consistent and comprehensive policies, procedures and practices.

Contact IMPACT Canada officials for details on how to be part of this opportunity.
