Veteran Coatings Expert Returns to GPI

In an emailed press release, construction management and inspection firm Greenman-Pedersen Inc (GPI) (Babylon, New York, USA) announced that Tony Serdenes is returning to the company as its corrosion protection pursuits leader. Serdenes’ role will include business development and staff recruitment for the Corrosion Protection Group in support of GPI’s coatings-related services.

Serdenes has more than 35 years of experience in the coatings industry, managing coatings inspection contracts, and providing technical support and design services. His expertise also includes environmental needs during the removal of hazardous materials on protective coating for bridges, tanks, and structural steel. Moreover, he has managed Department of Transportation (DOT) contracts for bridge painting projects and technical support for surface preparation and coating application, among other duties.

“Tony brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience to our Corrosion Protection Group,” says GPI’s national director of corrosion protection Sarah Olthof. “I’m confident that we will see significant growth in coatings-related services with him as our Pursuits Leader.”

In addition, Olthof will be working closely with Serdenes as he supports GPI’s coatings-related initiatives company-wide.

Serdenes currently holds many positions and certifications related to the coatings industry, including The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) and the Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP). His certifications include SSPC Protective Coatings Specialist, NACE Certified Coatings Inspector Level 3, SSPC Bridge Coatings Inspector Level 1, and SSPC C-3 Supervisor for Deleading of Industrial Structures.
