Oilfield services company OEM Group (Portlethen, United Kingdom) recently secured a seven-figure contract with industrial services consortium PBS by Ponticelli (Aberdeen, United Kingdom). The three-year deal, which comes with two extension options for an additional year, calls for the group to supply a fully managed service, which concentrates on diesel generator maintenance for seven onboard sites of a major production operator.

In total, the contract covers the maintenance of seven different engine manufacturers. Duties include main power generation, critical fire pumps, and standby generators. “We look forward to working alongside OEM Group to expand the capabilities of our workforce, and as part of our initiative to minimize vendor activity offshore,” says Andreas Christophersen, director of PBS.

Since its launch in 2012, OEM has serviced the oil and gas, marine, and renewables sector in engine and generator repairs, servicing, and testing. Within the past year, the company has seen its work increase in the North Sea with contract extensions and new partnerships. The group has also expanded its efforts into new Middle East markets.

“This contract award is a superb addition to the group’s track record in the North Sea,” says Barry Park, president and managing director. “At OEM, we have a skilled team of engineers that are able to work across numerous engine manufacturers, which is a key element to this specific contract. The contract is also working towards a reduction in vendor initiative, and we are looking forward to sharing our expertise.”
