U.S. House Passes INVEST in America Act with Corrosion Language

Bob Chalker, CEO of AMPP.

The Association for Materials Protection and Performance [AMPP] applauds the House of Representatives for passing H.R. 3684, the INVEST in America Act,” says Bob Chalker, CEO of AMPP. “This legislation is an important first step in ensuring our infrastructure receives the much-needed attention it deserves.”

Among other things, the legislation emphasizes the need for corrosion planning and qualified personnel on bridge construction, replacement, and maintenance. The bill makes similar recommendations for projects funded by the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.

“These provisions enhance the safety of America’s bridges and water infrastructure by promoting best practices and standards,” Chalker’s statement concludes. “By incorporating this language, Congress extends the life of assets, protects the environment, and increases public safety. We look forward to working with the Senate and the Biden Administration as the process moves forward.”
