In an emailed press release, corrosion and passive fire protection solutions provider Acotec (Aalst, Belgium) announced it had entered into a joint venture with Jurunature Sdn Bhd (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), a business supplies and equipment company serving the oil and gas, petrochemical, and marine industries. Together, they will produce coatings products, including Acotec’s anticorrosion coating brand Humidur and Humidur Char, at Jurunature’s manufacturing plant in Malaysia.

With its new jointly owned company, Jurunature Humidur Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd, the two companies will not only be able to faster serve the Asian coatings market, but they will also be able to reduce transport and operational costs.

“The official opening of Jurunature Humidur Asia Pacific is a major step in our company’s history,” says Wim Schalley, CEO of Acotec. “It is a cooperation built on mutual fit. We both share the philosophy of putting customers first and serving them in the most original way we can. Protecting our customer’s asset is our lifetime goal.”

“We are very proud to be associated with Humidur and the formation of this Joint Ownership company,” adds Dato’ Sri Muhammad Syafiq, managing director of Jurunature. “The activation of this production plant demonstrates the strong commitment to maintain the quality of the Humidur and Humidur Char products. Humidur and Humidur Char offer advantages and warranties unseen in the coating industry and this will meet well with client expectations of keeping both Capex and Opex costs down on the long term.”
