Arkema Inc. (Colombes, France) announced plans to acquire Arc Building Products (Arklow, Co. Wicklow, Ireland) in order to strengthen its position in Ireland’s growing construction adhesives market with a broader range of solutions and a local manufacturing footprint.
Arc Building Products specializes in tile adhesives, floor preparation systems, building chemicals, and sealing and bonding solutions. The Irish manufacturer has built a solid position in its domestic market, delivering around €15 million (~$14 million) in annual sales.
Bostik, part of the Arkema Group, will build on its strong position in Ireland for more than 60 years as a manufacturer and distributor of adhesives and sealants. By integrating Arc’s product range, Bostik is poised to leverage significant industrial and commercial synergies by expanding its portfolio of high value-added solutions. Bostik will also invest significantly in Arc’s production facility in Arklow to increase the local production of its solutions.
“This deal is aligned with Bostik’s commitment to deliver consistently high-quality, sustainable products while fostering strong customer intimacy,” says Vincent Legros, executive vice president of the adhesive solutions segment at Bostik.
The project is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024.
