Harrington Industrial Plastics (Chino, California) named Jay Rooney, previously chief financial officer, as the company’s president and chief executive officer.

Rooney assumed those roles on July 14, 2017, and succeeds Jim Swanson, who is now chairman of the board. Rooney has served on the company’s executive team for the past 11 years, and has more than 40 years of total industry experience—including work for both manufacturers and distributors.

Since 1959, Harrington has been a major distributor of industrial plastic piping for industries with corrosive and high-purity applications.

Mike Tourtelot, who joined the company in May after spending 26 years with Carrier Corp. (Farmington, Connecticut), was named to fill Rooney's prior position as chief financial officer. Tourtelot had served in that role at Carrier Corp./Watsco since 2010.

With over 50 U.S. locations, the company offers versatile products to meet the needs of industrial and high purity applications. As a leader in solving fluid and gas handling solutions, the group has a technically oriented sales staff with specialists in filtration, pumps, measurement and control, valves and automation, fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP), commercial water, and high purity.
