Stone Wool Manufacturer Rebrands in North America

ROXUL Technical Insulation has rebranded itself as ROCKWOOL Technical Insulation (Milton, Ontario, Canada) effective January 1, 2018, reflecting the name of its global parent company ROCKWOOL—the world’s largest manufacturer of stone wool products.

The rebrand applies not only to the company’s industrial (ProRox) business and marine and offshore segment (SeaRox), but also to all product lines in the company’s North American stone wool insulation business—including residential, commercial, roofing, and original equipment manufacturers.

North American customers will see the rebrand supported throughout 2018 with increased presence, promotional efforts, and communications. The primary difference will be a new logo, which incorporates a graphic representation of a volcano. This symbolizes the source of the core material, volcanic rock, from which all of the company’s products are made.

Other changes include a new digital web site and social media channels throughout North America.

“Under one, unified identify, ROCKWOOL is able to mobilize more effectively to address the challenges affecting modern society,” says Mirella Vitale, the company’s senior vice president of marketing, communications, and public affairs.

The company employs ~1,000 workers at five factories and plants, where it offers advanced building insulation products along with industrial and technical solutions. Since 2014, the group has invested ~$350 million in three new North American manufacturing facilities, including a new stone wool insulation plant in Ranson, West Virginia.
