Chemical monitoring and management solutions specialist LUX Assure (Edinburgh, United Kingdom) has appointed Instalações e Engenharia de Corrosão Ltda (IEC) (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) and Paschoalin Consultoria Em Engenharia Ltda (Rio de Janiero, Brazil) as export agents to represent the company and support its CoMic† and OMMICA†technologies, respectively.
Having experienced growth within the United Kingdom over the last year, including several senior appointments, the agreements signify the next step in the specialist’s plans for international growth.
“LUX attended OTC Brasil 2017, which gave us an excellent introduction to the Brazilian market,” says CEO Emma Perfect. “It also gave us great confidence that our products are well placed to help operators and service companies in the region to manage their chemicals, production, and infrastructure more effectively. We are therefore delighted to announce the development towards this with the engagement of two Rio De Janeiro-based agents, and we look forward to pursuing first sales in the region this summer.”
Since 1970, IEC has provided integrity services, including inspection and corrosion studies. Its company mission is to supply and implement new solutions for corrosion problems.
“At IEC, we have extensive knowledge of the most advanced technologies in the field of cathodic protection and corrosion, which positions us well to represent [them] in Brazil,” says Mauro Chaves Barreto, company director.
Founded in 2007, Paschoalin was formed to assist foreign companies entering the Brazilian oil and gas market. Its main niche is new technologies aimed at improving the performance and safety of operations within the oil and gas sector.
According to the chemical monitoring group, the two technologies involved in the agreements represent a revolution in the monitoring and managing of chemicals in oil, condensates, and water, specifically with regards to thermodynamic hydrate inhibitors and corrosion inhibitors used to protect onshore and offshore oilfield assets.
